What new developments can Victorville residents expect in 2024?

The Victorville Daily Press highlighted on January 03rd, 2024 that the city of Victorville has outlined an ambitious agenda for 2024, featuring new businesses, infrastructure upgrades, and community projects:

Business and Economic Development

  • Sprouts Farmers Market: The first High Desert location will open in Spring 2024 in a repurposed Toys “R” Us building, offering fresh, organic, and specialty foods.
  • Amargosa Crossroads Shopping Center: Approved in 2023, it will feature a Chase Bank, a restaurant, a car wash, and retail spaces on 5 acres.
  • New Hotels:
    • Wyndham Garden Hotel: A 98-room facility with amenities like a gym, pool, and conference space, to be built in Dunia Plaza.
    • Residence Inn by Marriott: A 152-room project at Bear Valley Road and Mariposa Road.
    • Additional hotels include Avid and Fairfield by Marriott.

Public Facilities

  • New Green Tree Library: Located in a repurposed golf course clubhouse, offering expanded space and funded partly by California state grants.
  • Animal Shelter: Transitioning to a permanent facility in a former school building, slated for use by Fall 2024.

Police Station: Plans are underway for a larger station to address space constraints at the current facility
