Mayors Panel Reveals Major Developments Coming to the High Desert

  • Victorville: Recognized as the 13th fastest-growing city in the U.S., it welcomed 200 new businesses in 2023, including CarMax and Sprouts Farmers Market. Notable projects include a new elder care facility, expansions at Southern California Logistics Airport, and a new sheriff’s station.
  • Apple Valley: Plans for 20 million square feet of industrial development are underway, including a major furniture manufacturing facility and expansion of Providence St. Mary Medical Center. The town is also set to develop a new Love’s Travel Stop.
  • Barstow: Mayor Courtney anticipates a real estate surge linked to the $1.5 billion Barstow International Gateway, with median home prices significantly lower than other areas in the High Desert. A new bridge construction project is also in progress.
  • Adelanto: Mayor Reyes announced several new commercial projects, including gas stations and plans for over 5,500 homes.
  • Hesperia: Excitement surrounds Maersk’s arrival at the Hesperia Commerce Center, along with other new restaurants and a significant master-planned community project.
