Highway 395 Widening Project Moves Closer to Construction in the Victor Valley

According to the Victorville Daily Press on March 18, 2025, major regional infrastructure upgrade is one step closer to breaking ground as Caltrans and the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority finalize their agreement to begin Phase 2 of the long-planned Highway 395 widening project in the Victor Valley. Highway 395 is a Priority Interregional Highway, serving as a vital freight and travel corridor linking Southern California’s inland counties to the Central Valley. With roughly 30,000 daily vehicles, including 17% truck traffic, this segment currently carries nearly double the traffic of nearby two-lane portions and four times the volume of the four-lane segments north of SR-14. Regional agencies describe it as the highest priority transportation project in the Victor Valley, serving a population of more than 330,000. As one of the region’s most critical transportation upgrades, its progress signals long-term economic and logistical growth for the Victor Valley.
