Adelanto to open new park with playground on Halloween Day

The Victorville Daily Press wrote on October 31st, 2024, that Adelanto city officials have rescheduled the grand opening of a new park to Halloween, Oct. 31, at 1 p.m. The park, located at 11675 Chamberlaine Way, is a $2.8 million project built on 1.77 acres. Features include a playground, splash pad, basketball and tetherball courts, picnic areas, restrooms, exercise equipment, walking paths, turf areas, landscaping, and lighting. The project was funded through a grant from the California Department of Parks and Recreation, part of a $4 billion Parks, Environment, and Water Bond Act of 2018, which allocated $548 million to improve and build parks across California, including nearly $19 million for Adelanto and surrounding cities.
