The Victorville Housing Market Is Improving

Victorville Housing Market ImprovingNew Housing Tract Brings Buyers To Victorville

Since the Great Recession took hold of the economy, new home builds in the Victorville area have been rare. Fortunately, though, it looks like this streak of no home development is about to be broken, boding well for the local housing market.

A new development spearheaded by developer Legacy Homes plans to bring 155 new homes to the area, expanding on their existing development in the master-planned West Creek community. Adding to the Copperfield tract already established in West Creek, they opened two model homes earlier this month to unveil their new Springfield tract.

Legacy Homes reports that they are already finding interested buyers, and some people who have visited the model homes have already committed to purchasing in the new tract. The models range between 1,834 square feet and 2,653 square feet in size, and between $222,990 and $262,990 in price. Notably below the median home prices of $406,000 in Los Angeles County and $680,000 in Orange County, it is no surprise that these competitively priced High Desert homes are drawing buyers from the surrounding area.

In the depths of the Recession, Legacy Homes was one of the only developers continuing to build. They opened their Copperfield tract in 2011 when the economy still looked bleak, and have built all but three of the slated 115 homes. With the success of Copperfield during a more challenging economic time, it will be no surprise if the Springfield tract sells quickly, bringing buyers from the surrounding areas to Victorville.
