Projected Highway 395 Renovations to Ease Congested travel

Highway 395 widening to begin in 2016Highway 395 will be undergoing a major transformation in the coming years. A $483 million project will transform the highway completely. By adding an additional lane in each direction, motorists can finally find ease on this once despised highway. This transformation will begin near Interstate 15 by Desert Flower Road, and will continue to south of Kramer Junction. The major renovations are expected to start in 2016, so that they can properly plan for the construction.

In the meantime, Caltrans has announced a $21 million project that will renovate 16 miles of Highway 395 to accommodate for the desire to act now. This project will widen both the shoulders and the median to accommodate for the heavy traffic conditions of the highway. This minor project will begin on Palmdale Road and will continue to the south of Highway 58.

This major renovation of Highway 395 is expected to make the roads a safer place. The soon-to-be four lane highway will also ease convenience for travelers and improve travel time.
