Gov. Jerry Brown Signs Legislation to Battle California’s Climate Change

Wind FarmIncreasing Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency is a High Priority for California.

Governor Jerry Brown is serious about his fight against climate control. Recently, the Governor of California signed two new goals into law at Griffith Observatory in L.A. Expanding renewable energy and increasing energy efficiency is what California is determined to do. The proof that this state needs to desperately make these changes couldn’t be clearer, as smog spread across the Los Angeles Basin.

Under the bill, the state’s requirements will be to produce 50% of its electricity from renewable sources such as wind and solar by 2030. In addition, California has to double energy efficiency in buildings. The new law will also begin paving the way for a regional electricity grid. This could help make renewable energy available more throughout the West and also encourage utility companies to create more electric vehicle charging stations. Since electric vehicle ownership is increasing, there is a demand for more charging stations and if these charging stations are easily accessible then making the switch from gasoline to electric cars will be easier. The result will be less smog and cleaner air for everyone.

As California shifts towards using more renewable energy resources, there will be a need for more solar and wind power plants. This could possibly create a problem at times since, even though renewable energy is abundant and unlimited, the sun still sets and disappears behind clouds and sometimes the wind will stop blowing. In order to be prepared at all times, we will need to focus on better, more efficient ways to store renewable energy. This way we can better guarantee that enough electricity is available when needed.

Wise land buyers are acquiring land that is zoned for solar development near and even adjacent to existing large scale solar farms. Kern County has received over $15 billion from renewable energy companies and more projects are on the way. The 6th largest solar plant in the USA was recently built next to several of our land parcels in Rosamond, Kern County. The parcels are approximately 2 acre lots for only $39,000 and they can be purchased with only 25% down payment and monthly payments of $216 per month! No credit check or income verification to qualify for our in-house financing. Take advantage of the renewable energy boom!
