BNSF’s $1.5 Billion Barstow Rail Project: World’s Largest Intermodal Hub

According to Victorville Daily Press dated April 28,2025, the

$1.5 billion Barstow International Gateway (BIG) is set to begin construction in late 2026, creating the largest fully integrated intermodal facility in the U.S. Located west of Barstow between Lenwood and Hinkley, the 4,800-acre project will feature a rail yard, intermodal hub, logistics park, and new distribution center capacity.
