Construction of the Apple Valley Yucca Loma Bridge is Underway

Construction of the Yucca Loma BridgeAt the recent State of the Town luncheon, Mayor Art Bishop gave the luncheon a theme, calling it “Building Bridges”. Mayor Art Bishop spoke about the current construction of the Yucca Loma Bridge as a reference to Apple Valley’s commitment to the town. This major transportation transformation has been in the works for years, but now all the work can finally be seen as construction of the bridge is in process. The duration of the project is expected to last another two years. However, once complete, this will create a third route to the I -15 Freeway over the Mojave River. Yucca Loma Road will allow motorists to save time traveling between Apple Valley and the I-15 Freeway.

The Yucca Loma Bridge is expected to bring unique business and employment opportunities to the town. Recent triumphs of Apple Valley’s recovering economy can be seen in the increase in single-family home building permits. During the fiscal year 2013/2014, 113 single-family home building permits were granted.
