According to Construction Dive, March 16, 2015, Homebuilders will buy more land in 2015 than they did last year, and they’ll pay more for it. New home sales are forecast to rise considerably this year, fueling builder optimism and increasing their demand for lots. Homebuilders who stocked up on cheap land as competitors went out of business or held off on purchases during the tight economy, are starting to run low on lots. Replacement lots, however, will cost considerably more now, as land prices started a steep climb in 2011.
