Sewer Line Installation to Aid Development in Hesperia

According to the Victorville Daily Press, January 23, 2021, a portion of Mariposa Road near the Ranchero Road Interchange in Hesperia remains closed for the installation of a sewer line that will assist future business growth in the area. The installation of the sewer line is part of a larger infrastructure improvement project approved last year by the council, the Daily Press reported. The project includes constructing the new sewer line from the existing system, located near the intersection of Caliente Road and Mesquite Street, to sewer systems located on Caliente and Mariposa roads, north of Ranchero Road. The Mariposa Road sewer will extend under Interstate 15 and connect with the Caliente Road system. From there, the flow will proceed north along Caliente Road to a proposed lift station. The station would be located near the interchange, west of I-15 and south of the railroad tracks, the report said. In February 2020, city staff told the council that the project would foster and facilitate more development in the vicinity of the Ranchero Road interchange, which includes a Starbucks, gas stations and eateries.
