Industrial Blvd & Silica Drive in Victorville to Receive ‘Complete Road Reconstruction’

According to the Victorville Daily Press, June 19, 2021, a “complete road reconstruction” of Industrial Boulevard and Silica Drive between Bear Valley and Hesperia roads in Victorville is expected to last four months, officials said. The Victorville City Council awarded a $4.5-million contract to Sully-Miller Contracting Company in May with the total cost of the project estimated at about $4.6 million. In addition to replacing the pavement, crews will improve sidewalks, drive approaches, gutters, curb ramps, intersections and drain facilities. Officials said a metal pipe storm drain will be replaced with a new “reinforced storm drain” and additional catch basins for stormwater will be constructed. Crews are expected to finish work at the end of October 2021. The project is one of several related to roads occurring in the city. Workers began fixing 16 miles of road in the Liberty Village area June 1, 2021, performing crack sealing followed by a slurry seal. On May 4, 2021, the City Council awarded a $1.8-million contract to Pavement Coatings Company to perform the work in an area bounded by La Mesa Road to the north, El Evado Road to the west, Bear Valley Road to the south and Amethyst Road to the east.
