Hesperia’s Tapestry Project is Approved

Master-planned community will bring benefits to the area.

The vote is in! Last week, at a public meeting at City Hall, the Hesperia City Council voted to approve the Tapestry Project. Some Hesperia residents were also present at the meeting and in favor of the project. The Terra Verde Group is the developer of the large-scale residential community that will consist of approximately 16,196 units on 9,365 acres in southeast Hesperia, built over a 30 year-span.

The developer said that by 2018 or early 2019, we should start seeing homes being occupied in Phase 1 of the multi-phase project. The homes will be in the upper $100,000 to $400,000 price range. Hesperia’s population is projected to grow from 50,000 to 80,000 as a result of the completed development.

One of the many benefits that the Tapestry Project will bring to Hesperia is the infrastructure improvements that the developer is required to complete, such as, the installation or alteration to approximately 40 intersections, and the widening of Ranchero Road and I Avenue. Another exciting advantage is that more jobs will be created and added in the region. A representative from the Building Industry Association said that Hesperia could possibly see up to $670 million in revenue over the next 20 years from this project, and it could also produce approximately $162 million in employee incomes.

It sounds like the Tapestry Project is going to bring great things to Hesperia and could possibly set the bar for more large-scale communities to come to the High Desert!
