Barstow Best Western In The Works

Barstow Best WesternContinued Economic Growth With Hotel Developments

As tourists continue flocking towards Barstow for lodging during their travels, occupancy rates of local hotels are nearly 90 percent along Interstate 15 and the Lenwood area. As a result, the city of Barstow Economic Development and Planning has announced that a Best Western is in the books. This Best Western Plus would be situated along Interstate 15, adjacent to the existing Days Inn.

With this recent announcement of the Best Western, we can expect other hoteliers to follow suit as hotel demand is continuing an upward movement. This development projects that a 60-room Best Western Plus will be under works early this summer. The Best Western development is planned to take place on 1.408 acres, to the north of McDonald’s and south of the Days Inn.

Manager of Barstow Economic Development and Planning, Gaither Lowenstein, admits that, “This new property, along with others that we anticipate approving in the not-so-distant future, will give visitors to Barstow a wider range of overnight options while bolstering the city’s tax base with increased transient occupancy tax revenues.” Should all go as planned, the Best Western Plus will not only provide tourists and travelers with the utmost convenience and luxury, but it will also provide the local economy with direct benefits that will continue fostering growth.
