San Bernardino County to Lead Economic Trip to South Korea

According to the Victorville Daily Press, February 8, 2019, in an effort to enhance business relations between San Bernardino County and South Korea, members of the Board of Supervisors and local business people will travel to Seoul. Board Chairman Curt Hagman and 1st District Supervisor Robert Lovingood will be aboard for the ride that will see South Korean and San Bernardino businesses interacting in arranged face-to-face meetings with a variety of economic goals, mostly in the country’s capital city of Seoul. “In addition to marketing San Bernardino County’s products and services, this mission provides an opportunity to connect with and assist Korean companies wishing to establish or expand operations here in the county,” Lovingood said in a press release. Foreign direct investment by South Korean-based owners in U.S. companies has exploded in recent years, from $19.9 billion in 2011 to $40.9 billion in 2016, the county said.
